Last week I announced that as Auditor General I’d be auditing the Pennsylvania Lottery system to make sure it is protected from those trying to game the system, something that happens all to frequently in other states.
The Pennsylvania Lottery remains the only state lottery that designates all its proceeds to programs that benefit older residents — programs that include property tax and rent rebates; free and reduced-fare transportation services; the low-cost prescription programs PACE and PACENET; and local services provided by the 52 Area Agencies on Aging.
I’m also going to look at whether the procurement process for third-party contractors is being handled properly, and that sexual harassment policies are being followed.
