Today, Eugene DePasquale was one of a select amount of candidates nationally to receive the endorsement of President Barack Obama.

President Obama released the following statement upon the announcement:

“I’m proud to endorse this diverse and hopeful collection of thoughtful, empathetic, and highly qualified Democrats. Together, these candidates will help us redeem our country’s promise by sticking up for working class people, restoring fairness and opportunity to our system, and fighting for the good of all Americans — not just those at the top. They make me optimistic not just about our party’s chances in November, but about our country’s future long after that. So if you’re in one of their districts or states, make sure you vote for them this fall. And if you can, vote early —by mail or in person.”

Candidate for Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District, Eugene DePasquale, issued the following statement in response:

“Thank you President Obama for your kind words and support. I look forward to representing my community in Congress and delivering tangible results for the residents of South Central Pennsylvania on issues like expanding access to affordable, quality health care, getting our economy back on track, and holding government accountable to everyday Americans,” said DePasquale.

PA-10 has been identified as the most competitive race in Pennsylvania by PoliticsPANational Journal, and the Philadelphia Inquirer
